News – September 2016

On October 3rd there will be a gathering at the Lighthouse Cinema for a premiere screening of a collaborative film The Masterplan, made and produced by the students of Dublin 7 Educate Together and artists John Beattie, Ella de Búrca and curator Jennie Guy who are coming together to explore the changing education environment in the 21st Century. This project is part of ‘…the lives we live’ in Grangegorman.

Coming up I’ll be in Your Camp: Will You be in Mine? an Art School project, with lead artists Naomi Sex and Karl Burke will take place in DIT campus and The Brunner secondary school in Dublin 7. This project is also part of ‘…the lives we live’ in Grangegorman.

June 2016

I am exhibiting Reading Ensemble III in Repression × Resurgence × Reemergence curated by Jackie Hoysted, between June 3 – 25 in Solas Nua (Washington, DC). For more information visit the Solas Nua website.

Strategic Partnerships Award (Wicklow County Council): I’m collaborating with Fiona Hallinan, Katy Fitzpatrick, and Aislinn O’Donnell, working in Bray School Project and St. Mary and St. Gerard’s National Schools. The working title for the project is Memory Beads.

Grangegorman Public Art: I’m curating a project titled The Masterplan sited in Grangegorman, working with John Beattie, Ella de Burca and the Dublin 7 Educate Together National School. We will be producing the work between May and June, 2016.

School Links: I curated a project with with Vanessa Donoso Lopez working with Marino College in collaboration with second class boys of St. Joseph’s CBS Primary School, and Head of Visual Arts Michael Flannery.
