Jennie Guy and Claire Behan hosted a picnic in St. Anne’s Park, Raheny, on Saturday 11th June.

Participants were asked to bring along a meal indicative of what they thought Utopia represents.

The invitation to the picnic detailed:

Possible examples are a perfect communal summers dish, a skyscraper cake set to fall, or perhaps an empty plate. What you cook is open to every interpretation. You will be able to name and describe your dish.

The time spent preparing your dish can be long or short, and dishes can be frugal or lavish but enough to share. Bring whatever beverage you wish to drink. Plates and glasses will be provided.

Please inform us if you are preparing a starter, main or dessert.

The picnic will start at 2pm, signposts will lead you there. RSVP essential to utopiapicnic@gmail.com, so that we can devise the size and scope of our utopian picnic blanket.

This event is part of ‘What Alice Found There’ 6th until 19th June 2011 and is curated by Deirdre Morrissey. This exhibition is made possible by The Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council, The Red Stables Artists Studios and Open Spaces.
